My youngest son and I are sick today. I have a head cold and he has that nasty croupy cough. We have been curled up on the couch together watching television all morning. Luckily I made this recipe a few days ago and got it all typed up.
My kids love homemade pizza. This is a super easy, very kid friendly recipe that is so fun for Valentine’s Day dinner. Just form your dough into a heart shape; how easy is that? Another fun way to make it is to let everyone make their own mini pizza hearts. That way everyone can add whatever toppings they like. Hope you enjoy it. I’m heading back downstairs to do some snuggling with my four year old!
Incredible Homemade Pizza -Valentine’s Day Style

2 tsp SAF instant yeast
1/2 tsp sugar
1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp olive oil
3 1/3 cups flour (approximately)
Pizza Sauce:
8oz tomato sauce
1/8 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp basil
1 clove garlic, minced
1/8 tsp salt (optional)
For sauce: Combine all ingredients and heat in a saucepan or in a glass bowl in the
microwave.
For pizza dough: Mix yeast, sugar, and water and let sit 1-2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients, using enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead a few times. Roll out on a large greased cookie sheet that has been sprinkled with cornmeal. Poke dough all over with a fork. Bake at 475 for about 5 minutes. Remove from oven and spread with sauce. Add cheese and your favorite toppings and bake for 10-12 more minutes or till crust is golden and cheese is melted.
