Toasted Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies – toasting the oats makes these some of the tastiest oatmeal cookies you will ever sink your teeth into!
A few months ago I shared a recipe for toasted oatmeal chocolate chip muffins. That was when I discovered the magic of toasting oats.
It was an epic discovery, and once you try it, your baked goods will never be the same! It adds such a yummy nutty flavor. So good!
Besides the toasted oats, there is another secret to awesome oatmeal cookies. Two kids of chocolate chips. The milk chocolate chips add sweetness, and they are my kids’ favorite part.
But adding the semi-sweet chocolate chips makes the cookies have heavenly little melted pools of chocolate. Put them both together and it’s a perfect balance!
Give this recipe a try. They might just become your new favorite oatmeal cookies!

I like my oats more fine so blended them before adding. They were still warm so they melted the chocolate chips when I mixed. The dough tastes so delicious I’m afraid my kids are going to eat it all before I even get one pan cooked😂. They say it tastes better than cookie butter. Amazing flavor!

Haha, yes, my kids love eating cookie dough before I can get the cookies baked as well! Sometimes I think I should just save half of the dough and let them eat it. It would save me some baking time, and they’d be thrilled. 😉

Just made a double batch for a family pig roast! I think I will have to make another double batch before the picnic. I’m also hoping to make the oatmeal chocolate chip cookies too. 🙂

So glad they were a hit, and how fun that your family does a pig roast! I haven’t been to one of those for years.
