Add a pop of color to your kitchen with a Painted Knife Block. A quick and easy DIY project!
A couple of years ago I gave my knife block a DIY makeover with some sandpaper, a little bit of paint, and a vinyl decal. It went from plain old ugly stained wood to this:
Now that I am re-doing my kitchen decor, I decided my little knife block needed updating. So I busted out the sandpaper, paint, and vinyl again. For the accent color in my kitchen, I am using a light aqua blue color. I bought a can of latex paint for some shelves I’m going to build, so I used it on my knife block. And voila, it has a totally new look!
I love how cheery and bright this color is. (Although it’s a little more subdued than the photos show.)
I used my Silhouette machine to cut a new monogram for the front. It’s not quite as fancy as the old one, but I think I like it even better. I can’t wait to get my kitchen all done so I can share it with you! I’m getting there, I promise. 🙂

Did you have to use any top coating to protect it or just paint?? I love this!

I’ve got to say this is a different style of kitchen accessory! Even though it’s completely different I think that it is in a good way! It stands out and that is what you want you Kitchen Decor to do.
