Looking for a quick, easy, delicious low carb dinner recipe? This Keto Egg Roll in a Bowl is ready in under 20 minutes, and is made all in one skillet. All the flavors of an Asian egg roll, but without the carbs!
My mom taught me how to make egg rolls when I was a teenager, and they were so good! But they were so much mess and so much work that I stopped making them years ago. But this recipe? It’s so easy that I make it over and over again!
Can I Eat Egg Rolls on Keto?
Unfortunately, traditional egg rolls are to high in carbs for a keto diet. Just one egg roll wrapper can have 12-16 carbs. And of course no one can stop with just one egg roll!
Luckily, this healthy egg roll in a bowl has about 6 grams of carbs per serving, so even if you eat two bowls, you will be consuming less carbs than if you just ate one fried egg roll!
My friend Judy sent me this egg roll skillet recipe when she found out I had started the keto diet. It quickly became a favorite not only with me, but with the rest of my family.
WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS DECONSTRUCTED EGG ROLL

EGG ROLL IN A BOWL KETO RECIPE
INGREDIENTS NEEDED:
- Ground Beef – I used 85% fat, but any kind will work.
- Pork Sausage – We love the flavor the sausage adds, but you can substitute ground beef if you prefer.
- Butter – I use regular salted butter, but if you use unsalted, add a dash of salt.
- Broccoli Slaw – a blend of shredded broccoli stalks, carrots, and red cabbage.
- Coleslaw Mix – Get the kind without dressing. It should be a mix of shredded cabbage (green) and carrots.
- Green Onion – Adds flavor without as many carbs as other varieties of onions.
- Soy Sauce – I use regular Kikkoman soy sauce. If you use low sodium, you may need to add additional salt.
- Garlic – Fresh definitely adds the best flavor!
- Red Pepper Flakes – We like it with a little kick, but not too spicy. You can add more if you like the heat.
DIRECTIONS:
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and sausage. Drain fat if desired.
- Add butter and garlic, saute for about a minute.
- Add broccoli slaw, coleslaw mix, green onion, soy sauce, water, and red pepper flakes. Cook and stir for 5-8 minutes, or till cabbage is tender.
- If desired, garnish with additional green onions and sesame seeds. Add salt and pepper to taste if needed.
LEFTOVERS? Store leftovers in the refrigerator in a tightly covered dish. It will last for 3-4 days. You can either reheat in in a skillet, or the microwave.
VARIATIONS:
- In place of either the ground beef or pork sausage, you can use ground turkey.
- Use coconut aminos in place of the soy sauce.
- Add some fresh or ground ginger.
- Instead of red pepper flakes, use Sriracha.
- After it is cooked, drizzle it with sesame oil.
- To bump up the protein and fat even more, you can add a beaten egg to the skillet after you have sauteed the cabbage and broccoli slaw.
