A few weeks ago we had a Young Women’s activity to help the girls with their Personal Progress goals. We had them rotate around three stations, while the leaders pulled them out individually for interviews.
At one of the stations I had them make these tiny paper purses. For “purse”onal progress. Get it? Haha, I know it’s cheesy, but I thought they were so cute I just had to incorporate them somehow.
I think these would be darling party favors! They are a snap to whip together, especially if you cut out a bunch at one time. 🙂
Instructions for Hershey Nugget Paper Purses
1-Cut a strip of paper 1 1/2” wide by 4 3/4” long.
2-Starting on the left side, make score marks at 1 1/2”, 2 1/2”, and 4”.
3-If desired, make two diagonal cuts on the right side to make that section look like a purse flap.
4-Cut a thin strip of paper 4 3/4” long. Glue it down the center of the larger strip of paper.
5-Fold the purse flap end over and cut two tiny holes in the crease, one on each end.
6-Thread a piece of thin ribbon or yarn through each hole, and secure with a small piece of tape. This makes the handle.
7-Fold up the purse and tape the nugget to the bottom. Fold the top flap over and secure with glue stick.
8-If desired, embellish with tiny flower made out of punched circles.
I made some with yarn handles and some with ribbon. Both are darling, doncha think?
And who doesn’t love a purse full of chocolate? 🙂
