My kids have gone back to school, so as far as I’m concerned, summer is officially over. Yes, it is still blazing hot, but I know that cooler temperatures and falling leaves are just around the corner. I just so happen to love fall, so I say bring it on!

I love decorating my home with fall colors, so I actually started putting up my fall decor at the beginning of the month. I made this printable last year, and kind of forgot about it. It made me so happy to discover it in my box of fall decorations!

Simple, farmhouse style decor just brings a smile to my face, so I’ve been incorporating more and more of it into our living spaces. I decided to go with a chalkboard look for this printable. 

If chalkboard isn’t your thing, I also made one in black and white. Both are simple, and can go with any decor. 

I put mine in a thick frame I had in storage. It was a dark reddish brown, so I gave it a coat of white chalk paint. I used Rustoleum chalk paint, and it went on like a charm. I gave it a quick sanding and a coat of wax, and it was ready to go in under an hour.

I sure love how it looks on the shelf in my kitchen with the little fabric pumpkin I sewed a few years ago. 

How to print free printables:

-I like to get my artwork printed at Costco because it’s inexpensive, and I make at least one trip there every week, so I don’t have to go out of my way. I make sure I chose the matte finish, I think it has a more professional look.

-I also have a Xerox color laser printer, and it prints like a dream. I use it when I’m printing anything that has a white background (like my “you are loved” printable).  When I’m doing something mainly black, like this chalkboard print, it uses a ton of toner, so I have it printed at Costco instead.

• Click on the link below and download the file. There is a chalkboard and a black and white version!
• Print it off either at home on white cardstock, or at any printer.
• The actual design is sized as an 8×10, so if you are using an 8×10 frame you will need to trim off the edges.
