Summer is coming to a close, and we are gearing up for “back to school” which is happening in just a few days. All of my kids are in a transitional year. One is starting college, one is leaving the country to serve an LDS mission, one is starting high school, one is starting junior high, and one is starting kindergarten. Big changes at our house!
My oldest son is moving out next week for college. It is seriously hard to believe how fast my kiddos are growing up! He already has a laptop, but I thought it would be nice to get him a printer so he could easily print off all his homework.
I remember staying up till the wee hours of the morning finishing papers, then having to rush to the computer lab the next morning to print them off. Inconvenient, and sometimes downright stressful. I would have loved having my own printer!
Not going to lie, after seeing how cute this HP printer is, I kind of want to keep it for myself! Not only is it lightweight and compact, it comes in three colors. The blue is my favorite, but you can also get red or purple.
I decided to print out some inspirational quotes for my son to hang in his dorm room. I thought it would be fun to use a clipboard to frame them with, so it is super simple to change them out. It was a quick and easy project, and I’m sharing the printable quotes with you so you can print them out for your favorite student!
First up, I’m going to show you how to spruce up a regular clip board to match any decor. All you need is a can of spray paint and some painters tape.
I started with an old clip board that I had on hand.
You want to cover all of the metal parts of the clip board with painter’s tape. You may have to cut the tape into some pretty small pieces to cover the little curves, but you don’t want any metal showing.
Now all you need to do is spray the clip board. Don’t forget to spray the edges on the side. My son wanted black, but you can use any color you want. Get creative!
Now just remove the tape, hang the clipboard on a nail, and print out some pretty quotes. Just slide one under the clip, and change them out when you want a new one!
I’ve got three you can use right now, or you can make and print your own.
To use the three back to school quotes, just click on one of the links below. It will open up a PDF file. I recommend printing on card-stock.

These fun HP Printers are perfect for your back to school printing needs, and their compact size makes them great for college students! They are affordable, and even come with black and color ink cartridges. I was able to set mine up and print in under 10 minutes. You can print wirelessly from your computer, or even from your smartphone or tablet.
You can find these brand new HP DeskJet 3636 printers at Walmart. If the printer aisle at your local store is as picked over as mine was, don’t worry. You can purchase one online and either have it shipped to the nearest store, or even have it shipped to your house like I did. Nothing beats shopping from home in your pj’s!

It’s a wonderful tool for both owners and those looking to buy or rent.
When you do so, you will be better off financially and increasing your credit score gives you a better chance to get
a good interest rate when purchasing your first home. That should be enough
to give the potential renter a solid idea of whether or not your unit is what they’re looking for.
