As the Young Women’s president, one of my jobs is putting together welcome kits for all the new 12 year old girls that are coming into the program. They are referred to as “Beehives”, so of course I had to come up with something that incorporated that theme. Back in my card making days, I paper pieced this little bee. I wanted something a little simpler, so I made it in digital format so I can just print one off when I need it.
After I printed and cut it out, I just attached it to the front of a white lunch sack. To help it stand up better, I cut out a piece of cardboard and placed it in the bottom of the bag. Then I filled it with the Young Women goodies and added a bow on top. I assembled a few of them to have on hand. So cute, doncha think?
While I was at it, I tweaked the words so I could use the printable to make cards. All I did was fold a 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ piece of white cardstock in half, glued on the printable, and inked the edges black. Quickest card I’ve ever put together!
I made a few variations:
Beehive Welcome:
Happy B-Day!:
The Birthday card I’d need most often:
And a note card that can be used for just about anything:
