Need an afternoon pick-me-up or a snack for the starving kids when they walk in the door after school? Give these Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Bites a try.
They are easy to make, healthy, and actually taste de-licious!
I cannot make it from lunch time until dinner without a snack. Or two. And of course neither can my kids. They want something to eat as soon as they step off the bus.
They want to eat something that tastes good. I want them to eat something healthy. These energy bites make both of us happy!
They are full of protein, fiber, and nutrients like vitamin B1. But they taste like a treat. A little like no-bake cookies actually. Truth be told, I like them even more, because they aren’t so sweet they make my tongue hurt.
Not only do these little gems taste good and pack a wallop of nutrition, they are super easy to make. Just stir a few ingredients together, roll in balls, and you are done. Easy peasy.
I’ve shared them with family and friends, and everyone loves them. I added craisins to one batch, and I loved that addition. Seriously, these are so yummy!

Do you have to refrigerate them? Or can they be on the go snack without worrying about putting them in fridge?
Kara Cook
If they get warm, the chocolate will melt and they will fall apart, but if you keep them relatively cool, they should be fine.

Could I use white chocolate instead of milk chocolate?
Kara Cook
White chips probably wouldn’t melt quite as well as the semi sweet, but as long as you are fine with little bits of white chocolate, it should be fine. It’s definitely worth a try!

Can you freeze these energy bars
Kara Cook
I have never tried freezing them. They may get a bit more soft, but they would probably be fine. I’d try freezing one and see how it turns out. Good luck, and let us know the results!
