M&M Chocolate Christmas Cookies . . . soft, fudgy, and loaded with chocolate chips and M&M’s, these cookies are sure to become a favorite!
I love a good chocolate chip M&M cookie, but one day I was craving something even more chocolatey, so I decided to try a chocolate version. It’s a pretty close competition, but I think I might like this version even more!
They turned out nice and chewy, and perfectly soft. They are loaded with chocolate chips, and the red and green M&M’s make them just perfect for Christmas. I opted to use the mini M&M’s this time, and they are perfect because you get more in every bite.
I don’t know anyone who can resist an M&M cookie, and these would look especially pretty on a Christmas goodie tray. And of course they would make great neighbor gifts!
How to make Chocolate M&M Cookies:
- Cream softened butter and sugars in a large mixing bowl till creamy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
- Sift together flour, cocoa, soda, baking powder, and salt. Stir in with chocolate chips and M&M’s. I used the mini holiday M&M’s.
- Drop by rounded spoonfuls (or roll in balls), and place on lightly greased cookie sheets. I like to press additional m&m’s into the top of the cookie dough balls.
- Bake at 350° for about 9-10 minutes.

Hi Kara-
These look great, and love the type of texture you are describing. Can you give me a little more detail regarding how to know when the cookies are done? Should the edges be set but cookie still looks a bit under-done, or cook until cookie looks fully set?
Thanks, Lauren
Kara Cook
I always like to bake my cookies just till the edges are done. The middle will continue to cook after they are removed from the oven, and I like my cookies soft! If I’m trying a new recipe, often times I will just bake one test cookie to see how long it needs to bake in my oven, because I know they all vary. Hope that helps!

This is my go to recipe any time of the year! I can’t resist them. Perfect recipe… so delicious, perfect texture. Also works without the chocolate chips.. but if you love chocolate more power to you:)

I agree, they are way too good to only be made at Christmas time! I actually do sometimes leave out the chips and add more M&M’s. My kids like them that way, but I like them with some of the ooey gooey melted chips. 🙂

I love how these are a little crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. I wanted a chocolate based cookie to add mint chips too, so I replaced the vanilla extract with mint and M&M’s with mint chips and they remind me of the Andes mints I love.
Kara Cook
That sounds amazing! I bet they would also be good with Andes baking bits. I love those things!

Soooo good! Moist, chewy and well balanced flavors. I thought they might be too sweet since I had to make extra wet batter (was too dry when I originally mixed the wet and dry ingredients). Came out great! Made ours bigger so had to cook longer. Used mini chips and M&Ms. Won best cookie in family cookie contest!!

Yay, I’m happy to hear they were an award winner! I know they’re always a hit with my family, that’s for sure.
