Peanut Butter Waffles – These tasty waffles are a great way to add a little more protein to your breakfast! The peanut butter syrup is absolutely divine!
I am always looking for ways to add a little protein into our breakfast menu. Not only is it good for you, it’s great at keeping teenage boys full a little longer than thirty minutes.
Peanut butter is always a hit at my house, and it’s one food that I always have on hand. When I saw a peanut butter waffle recipe at Cupcake Diaries, I knew I needed to try it!
Well, they turned out just fabulous, and my family loved them! I recommend using crunchy peanut butter, it adds a nice crunch to the waffles, and pumps up the peanut butter flavor. Delicious!
We must talk about the peanut butter syrup. Oh my. It is so easy to make, but it is absolutely heavenly. I think it’s a must for these waffles. I mean, doesn’t that just make your mouth water? Mmmmm.
I’m telling you, if you love peanut butter, you are going to love and adore this recipe! If you really want to be decadent, you could add a few chocolate chips to the waffle batter. Just don’t tell my kids about it. 😉

If you love peanut butter, what better way to start the day than a stack of homemade peanut butter waffles topped with creamy peanut butter syrup!

My sisterās thirty year old sour cream waffle recipe has spoiled me for all other waffles however, this peanut butter waffle recipe still gets an honourable mention. The waffles are very moist inside, but are a little heavy on the stomach. The peanut flavour is very light, so if thatās what youāre after, definitely try the peanut butter syrup. The syrup was good, but I had trouble getting a smooth mixture and it looked curdled. (It tasted great though!)Overall, Iād give it a four out of five, joining other āvery goodā recipes behind my all-time champ: sour cream waffles.

Yes, they are definitely better with the peanut butter syrup if you love peanut butter like I do. Sorry your syrup wasn’t smooth, I’ve never had that happen. Sour cream waffles sound amazing!

What if you don’t have milk
Kara Cook
I think any milk (like nut milk, soy, etc) will work for this recipe.

Can these be used to make pancakes?
Kara Cook
I haven’t tried it, but I think it should work fine. You may need to thin the batter a bit with some extra milk.

can you use crunchy peanut butter for the syrup?
Kara Cook
I think it would work just fine. You may need to add a little extra peanut butter so it isn’t too thick.

This recipe is a keeper! Next time I’ll try making syrup with brown sugar. Also consider serving with sliced banana. Hubs said it should have a grape jelly syrup. I will be great for a big crowd with a variety of toppings: bacon, banana, marshamallow fluff, jelly syrup, chocolate chips and the peanut butter syrup. My kid also thinks it’ll be great leftover as sandwiches or topped with ice cream.

I tried this recipe today and used 1 1/2 cups of milk & 1/2 cup water instead of the full portions of milk to save on milk in my household. Loved the recipe but the syrup is quite sweet and does NOT make enough for the amount of waffles that the recipe makes. The syrup was not a huge hit at my house but we will be making this waffle recipe again as we LOVE peanut butter in my house. Found on pinterest & posted to my recipes i’ve tried & love board. Thanks for the recipe! <3 We have leftover batter for another morning at our house now! <3

How many weaffles does this recipe make?
Steve Carr
I got 7 waffles from this, about a half cup of batter each
Kara Cook
I usually get 6-8 in my round waffle irons.

I got 12 in my square waffle maker today that makes 4 at a time and have about enough batter to make another 12 waffles.

I am a peanut butter fanatic. Everything is better with peanut butter on it. I’ve always put peanut butter on my waffles, and then added syrup. It’s delicious! Now I have a recipe for peanut butter syrup. Thank you for the inspiration.

Peanut butter and syrup sounds pretty good, but I bet you’ll enjoy this recipe even more. I’m a peanut butter fan myself, and I love it!
Kara Cook
It’s hard for me to say because that has never happened to me. I’d try putting it in the blender. That might help emulsify it together.
Jennifer
This recipe is soooo good. And the syrup makes these waffles to die for. Thanks for sharing! I will totally make these again and again!

I rarely do “sweet” breakfasts because I have to have protein with each meal. Although I don’t do waffles, pancakes I do do on occasion. Gonna add PB to pancake batter and top with the devine sounding PB syrup! What a nice protein break from eggs and omelettes. Thanks!
Kara
I bet it will be great with pancakes! I’ll have to give that a try. š

Kara
Thanks for the inspiration! And yes, you definitely need to try the syrup. It’s heavenly!
