As you can tell from the hundreds of recipes for baked goods I’ve posted, I LOVE BAKING! One thing I have learned over the years is that baking is much more enjoyable if you start with the right tools. Having great baking supplies not only helps your baked goods turn out better, it can save you some time with prep and clean up. Which we all know is pretty dang important with our over the top busy schedules.
If you are looking for gifts for the baker in your life, or if you are shopping for yourself, you’ve come to the right place! I’m sharing a list of my favorite baking supplies. These are the supplies that I use over and over again (some multiple times a day), and love to pieces. I am including links to all of the products, because I am a huge fan of online shopping. 15 of my favorite tried, tested, and loved baking supplies:
OXO Good Grips 7-Piece Measuring Cup Set
Every kitchen needs at least one set of good measuring cups. I love this set because it’s sturdy, dishwasher safe, and includes a 2/3 cup measure. Some sets don’t, and that bugs the heck outta me.
OXO Good Grips 2-Cup Angled Measuring Cup
Dry and liquid measuring cups are not the same, you need both. I love this liquid measuring cup because you can read the measurements from above instead of having to bend over to check. Very handy!
Bamboo Spatulas
I have had my set of these for over 10 years, and I’m not joking when I say I use them every day. They are great for stirring cookie dough, bread dough, muffin batter, brownie dough, and just about everything. The angled edge makes it easier to fold in ingredients.
They are also great for making scrambled eggs. And I love them for scraping the last of the bread dough out of my mixer. I toss mine in the dishwasher, and they are still going strong after a decade of serious abuse.
Nut Chopper
I’ve owned several brands of hand-held nut choppers, and this brand has been the most durable. I also love that it has measurements on the side. As a bonus, my kids love using it, so I can get them involved in the cooking! It is perfect for softer nuts like pecans, walnuts, and cashews. Not almonds. I use my electric chopper for those.
Cuisinart 7-Speed Hand Mixer
This little mixer is a power house. Wimpy hand mixers are frustrating to use, and break down easily. Spend a little more and get a mixer that will last for years, and tackle all the jobs you throw at it.
Nordic Ware Commercial Cookie Sheets
These thick baking sheets are the best! I probably own 6 or 8 of them. Don’t judge. I stock up when they go on sale at Costco. They are awesome for baking cookies, rolls, sheet cakes. . . just about everything. Seriously, you need an awesome baking sheet!
Silicone Baking Mat – Set of 2
People, these silicone baking mats are a game changer! I bought mine a couple years ago and can’t believe I lived without them for so long. Nothing, and I mean nothing sticks to them. I never bake cookies without them, and I do not miss scrubbing pans. They are also great for candy making and no-bake cookies. Seriously, these are awesome, and everyone needs at least one! I have never used the actual Silpat brand, the knock-offs work just great for me and save a bunch of money. LOVE them!
Baking and Cooling Rack
The small grids on these cooling racks make them perfect even for delicate cookies. Plus they are oven safe- great for cooking bacon!
Stainless Steel Cookie Scoop, 0.875-Ounce
I bake a lot of cookies, and having a cookie scoop is such a time saver! Plus, your cookies will bake better if they are all the same size.
Chicago Metallic Commercial II Non-Stick Mini Loaf Pans, Set of 4
I love baking bread in mini loaf pans. Not only do they look cute, they bake faster. Less time waiting to eat the goodies is always a good thing!
Parchment Paper
I almost always line the bottom of my bread and cake pans with parchment paper. Nothing is sadder than having your baked goods stick to the bottom of the pan and fall apart. Yes, I’ve learned that from experience. Parchment paper is a baker’s best friend.
Nonstick Muffin Pan
I have four of these pans. I adore them, and you can’t beat the price!
1/4 cup Stainless Steel Scoop
I love using a scoop when I bake cupcakes and muffins. Much easier than trying to pour or spoon batter into the cups evenly!
Bundt Pan
I am a huge fan of Bundt cakes. They don’t take much more prep than a sheet cake, but they definitely have more “WOW” factor.
KitchenAid Artisan Series 5-Qt. Stand Mixer
If you really want to show someone you love them, get them a KitchenAid in their favorite color. This gift is sure to wow any baker! When I got mine 15 years ago, there were only a few color options, so mine is white. But man I love this turquoise one!
If you still don’t know what to get, you can opt for an Amazon gift card. Even the pickiest person loves free money!
