Creamy Grape Salad – this simple fruit salad makes a tasty side dish to just about any meal. It is perfect for picnics and potluck dinners!
You can serve this incredible salad with just about anything, but we love it with hand held foods like Pigs in a Blanket, Chicken Pillows, and Garlic Grilled Cheese Sandwiches.
Creamy Grape Salad
I first tried this grape salad at a church potluck a few years ago. I couldn’t tell what it was, so I took just a small spoonful. But after I took one bite, I knew I’d be going back for seconds. It is so yummy, especially if you love grapes like I do!
I made sure to track down the recipe, and was happy to find out how easy it is to make. It actually called for almost four times the amount of the creamy dressing, but I don’t think it needs that much. The brown sugar and pecans on top is my own addition, and it is totally optional.
I like to use purple grapes, but you can use green grapes if you prefer, or a mixture of both. I’ve tried it all three ways, and it is always yummy. It also keeps very well in the fridge, so you can make it a day or two before serving.
It is one of the easiest fruit salads you will ever make, but you won’t believe how delicious it is. My family loves it, and I hope you will too!

Can Grape Salad be made ahead of time?
Absolutely! It will keep for 3-4 days in the refrigerator. I like to pour it into a glass serving bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Just add the brown sugar and pecans right before serving.
Tips for making Grape Salad
-You can use red grapes, green grapes, or a combination of red and green.
-If you like your salad with more of the creamy sauce, you can use less grapes, or double the sauce.
-Make sure the grapes are dry, if they are wet the sauce won’t coat them as well.
-You can use both light cream cheese and light sour cream for the dressing. It won’t be quite as thick, but it will still taste delicious!
-To change things up a bit, you could use a different kind of nut. Or sprinkle some toasted coconut or toffee bits on top of the salad. You could even top it with chopped Butterfingers or Snickers and make it a dessert salad. It’s pretty versatile!
