Last Thursday I finally got my Halloween decorations put away and finished up my fall mantel. And then over the weekend the clouds dumped about a foot of snow, and it looks more like Christmas around here than fall. But no matter what the view from my window looks like, I am bound and determined to let fall stick around inside my house. LOL!
My mantel arrangement is very simple. And symmetrical, because to have things visually balanced. I’m pretty sure I’m a little OCD. I didn’t have to buy anything new, just used stuff I already had. It definitely needs a banner hanging across the front, so I’m hoping to get one done this week. We’ll see what happens.
I hung my book page wreath over the top of an old cabinet door that I painted white. I bought the pilgrims a couple of years ago on clearance. They were still kinda spendy for me, but I loved them so I splurged.
The plate and pumpkins I’ve had for a few years, and the pine cones are from the park. Yay for free decor! 🙂
I made these pumpkins out of upholstery fabric a few years back. They are leftovers from my Etsy shop. Glad I finally found a way to put them to good use!
The shabby chic candlesticks are garage sale finds that I painted and distressed earlier this year. I found the pumpkins at Walmart last year.
It is nice to curl up on the couch and look at my pretty fall mantel. For about 2.5 seconds, until the phone rings, the baby needs me, or I have to drive one of the boys somewhere. Sigh.
What about you? Are you already skipping to Christmas, or do you have some fall decor up?

Sorry, the anonymous comment was me. My computer mouse likes to jump around while I’m typing and it sometimes does crazy things, like delete my name just before I hit post.

I was just telling Wes the other day how much I’ve missed you too! We have got to get together, and soon!

So pretty. I miss you! Why is that we live so close to each other, but we never see each other? We need to do something about that!!
Fifi@AboutBloggingTime!
I totally love this!! I now wish I had a flat mantle or no mantle at all….lol!! I have a weird corner fire place with a ledge and a deep top part that goes all the way to the corner where the walls meet.

Thanks Fifi! This actually is a corner fireplace mantel. š
It is definitely a challenge to decorate them. It’s taken me 10 years to figure it out. LOL!
