I have been working on using more family photos to decorate my house. In the past I have done a pretty poor job, but I am getting better at it!
I saw this cute picture frame idea over at They Say a Picture is Worth a Thousand Words. She used paper as her background, but I opted for burlap. Either one looks fabulous.
Here is mine with the burlap background:
I love it that I can just change the pictures without even having to remove the frame from the wall!
Here are the steps if you’d like to make one for yourself.
Interchangeable Picture Frame
1-Find a frame that you would like to use. I bought some 8×10” frames at the thrift store for $1 each.
2-Spray paint the frames the color of your choice. I used black. (Obviously you can skip this step if you are using new frames.)
3-While the paint is drying, cover the glass with burlap. If you don’t have the glass, you can also use thick cardboard. Just cut it down to size with an exacto knife.
4-Place your glass over the burlap and cut the burlap 1-2” bigger on each side of the glass.
5-Glue one side of the burlap to the glass (I used hot glue).
6- Add a strip of hot glue to the other end and fold over the burlap, pulling it firmly so there are no wrinkles on the front side. Don’t burn your fingers like I always do. 😉
7-Repeat with the remaining two sides.
8-Now place it in your frame:
9-Hot glue a mini clothes pin in the top center of the frame. You can use a plain one, but I painted mine and added some scrapbook paper to the front. (That is a tutorial for another day.)
Now clip on your photo and hang your cute frame on the wall.
Those are my three youngest boys. Totally crazy every one! I figured I might as well document it. 🙂
Oh, and later on I will show you a trick for how to hang a group of photos. My wall is no longer empty!

Wonderful blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers?
I’m hoping to start my ownn blog soon but I’m a little lost
on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a
paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed ..
Any ideas? Appreciate it!

I would definitely start with WordPress using your own host. Good luck!
